On November 2, 2004, Escondido voters approved Proposition P, which provided $82.6 million for the construction of a much-needed new joint Police and Fire Facility, as well as the construction of three new neighborhood fire stations and a replacement Fire Station 1. More detailed information about the projects can be found on the City's Web site at www.escondido.org.

The Escondido Fire Department Administration offices are now located at the new combined Police and Fire Facility, located at 1163 North Centre City Parkway. The Fire Department area includes administrative and training spaces, fire prevention services, paramedic services management, and community education areas.

Seven Fire Stations presently house emergency response personnel and equipment.

Fire Station #1, Center City, is located at 310 North Quince. The new 28,340 square foot facility, six-story training tower and classroom houses 1 paramedic fire engine, 1 truck company, 1 brush engine, 1 ambulance and 1 battalion chief. Fire Station #1
Fire Station #2, East Valley, is located at 421 North Midway. Housed here are 1 fire engine, 1 brush engine, and 1 ambulance. Station #2 is a two-story fire station, which means it also has a gleaming brass pole. It also houses Escondido's police/fire command vehicle. Fire Station #2
Fire Station #3 is located at 1808 Nutmeg Street and houses 1 paramedic fire engine and 1 wildland brush engine. Fire Station #3

Fire Station #4, Bear Valley, is located adjacent to Kit Carson Park at 3301 Bear Valley Parkway, and houses 1 fire engine and 1 brush engine. 

NOTE: Currently, Fire Station #4 is undergoing reconstruction.

Fire Station #5, Felicita, is located southwest of I-15 at Felicita at 2319 Felicita, and houses 1 fire engine, and 1 brush engine. Fire Station #5
Fire Station #6 is located at 1735 Del Dios Road. It houses 1 ambulance. Fire Station #6
Fire Station #7 is located at 1220 North Ash. It houses 1 engine and 1 ambulance. Fire Station #7

The Escondido Fire Department does not publish individual fire station phone numbers as a matter of security and in order to comply with outside agency regulations.

In an emergency, calling 9-1-1 ensures the fastest response by the closest and most appropriate available unit.
