A Tent/Canopy Permit is required by the Escondido Fire Department for:

• Tents over 200 square feet.
• Canopies over 400 square feet.
• Temporary air-supported membrane structures.

Tent/Canopy Permits require:

• Minimum of 10 working days' notice prior to event.
• Proof of State Fire Marshal's Certificate of flame-retardant treatment.
• Date(s) of use.
• Site drawing showing:
  • Square footage of tent.
  • Seating arrangement inside.
  • Exit ways.
  • Fire Department emergency vehicle access.
  • Distance in feet from:
    – Other structures.
    – Vehicle parking.
    – Exit ways.
• Fire Department Current Fees
