On January 7, 2019 at approximately 6:31 PM, the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received a report of a shed on fire near a home at the intersection of 7th Ave. / Spruce St. A structure fire response was dispatched to the location. The first arriving Engine Company Officer reported a working structure fire with a fully involved shed.

  
The fire was contained and controlled in approximately 15 minutes. The shed and contents were a complete loss. The home-sustained minor heat and smoke damage to the exterior, closest to fire. In all, four fire engines, one truck, one rescue ambulance, Duty Investigator and one Battalion Chief responded to the fire.


Escondido Police assisted with road closures and Public Works responded to fall a large tree that burned and posed a public safety concern. Red Cross assisted the family with essential immediate needs. 


There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
