New Short-Term Rental (STR) Ordinance is Now in Effect
Big update for short-term rental operators in Escondido!
The City Council unanimously approved updates to the STR ordinance earlier this year (5-0 on Jan. 29), with a first reading on June 11 (also 5-0). The second reading is scheduled for July 16. You can watch that those meetings here: https://escondido.12milesout.com/
The updated ordinance officially went into effect on July 1.
As of today (July 7), the STR permit portal is OPEN! If you operate a short-term rental in Escondido, now is the time to apply for your permit and make sure you're in compliance. The process is quick and easy, and our team is here to support you every step of the way.
