Cheyenne Lane Fire

On April 26, 2022 at approximately 12:45 PM, the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received reports of a possible structure fire on Cheyenne Lane. The first arriving Engine Company reported a working fire to the rear of the residence. Firefighters found a bedroom and its contents burning to the rear of the house as well as items burning on an adjacent patio. The items burning on the patio ignited the grass of the home’s backyard. Firefighters deployed hose lines both into the house and the backyard and quickly extinguishing both fires.

An adult male suffered burns to his hands and face and was transported by EFD ground ambulance to UCSD Medical Center.

4 Engine Companies, 1 Truck Company, 2 Rescue Ambulances, and 2 Chief Officers responded to the incident.

SDG&E responded to assist with gas and electric utilities.

Escondido Fire Department Investigators determined the fire originated in electrical equipment in the bedroom.
