Employment/VolunteeringFor entry-level Firefighter/Paramedic positions, the Escondido Fire Department participates in the North County Joint Testing Process, administered through Palomar College. Job applications and resumes for other positions within the Escondido Fire Department are accepted only within a set time frame when there is an actual job opening, although the City of Escondido maintains a file of "interest cards" for those interested in specific positions. Interest cards are kept on file for one year and mailed out if an opening occurs.
