Huckleberry Fire 9/4/2020

On September 4, 2020 at approximately 12:45 p.m., the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received a report of a fire in the area of Wildrose Glen / Huckleberry Lane in Escondido. The first arriving engine Captain reported a two story, single-family residence with heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage and possibly extending into the home.

Firefighters contained and controlled the fire in approximately 40 minutes. Crews were on scene for several hours performing salvage, overall and ensuring that the fire was completely extinguished.

In all, five fire engines, one ladder truck, one rescue ambulance, and one Chief Officer responded to the fire. Assistance was provided by the Escondido Police.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians during the incident.
