Escondido Creek Trail Closures and Public Access

Upcoming work

Construction continues along the Creek Trail, with active work zones throughout the project area. Here's what you can continue to expect over the next two weeks:

  • Cable railing installation from Harding to Rose Streets and from Date to Ash Streets.
  • Steel fence and cable work from Date to Ash Streets.
  • Grading, trenching for electrical systems and placing decomposed granite from Harding Street to Midway Drive.
  • Light pole foundation work from Rose Street to Midway Drive.

Trail users should anticipate the following impacts:

  • Sections of the trail will require full 24-hour closures for public safety during cable railing removal and replacement.
  • The bike path from Date to Ash Streets will be closed for about a week for fence work.

Please pay attention to road signs in the area for the most up-to-date information on Creek Trail access.

Recently completed

Crews continue to make steady progress along the Escondido Creek Trail, completing several key improvements over the past few weeks:

  • Cable railing from Fig to Ash Streets.
  • Removing chain link fencing from Date to Ash Streets.
  • The south side between Fig and Date Streets is open, with final cable railing near the Date Street bridge to be installed after paving work in the coming months.

Open during construction

Businesses along the Creek Trail Corridor remain open during construction and appreciate your support — so be sure to stop by and shop locally throughout the year.
