Orchid Fire September 11, 2020

On September 11, 2020 at approximately 4:02 PM, the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received a report of a structure fire in the 3000 block of Orchid Glen. Caller reported that the garage was on fire and everyone was out of the house. A structure fire response was dispatched and the first arriving company officer reported a fully involved garage.

Aggressive action by the firefighters contained and controlled the fire in approximately 30 minutes. The home sustained major damage to the garage and contents. However; there was minimal damage to the living space from smoke and water. A Dodge Ram pickup in the driveway, also sustained major damage.  Fortunately, there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.

A gift card from California Fire Foundation was provided to the family for immediate essential needs.

Escondido Police Officers assisted with traffic control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
