California Fire Code (2013)

The purpose of the Fire Code is to establish the minimum requirements consistent with nationally recognized good practices to safeguard the public health, safety and general welfare from the hazards of fire, explosion or dangerous conditions in new and existing buildings, structures and premises, and to provide safety and assistance to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations.

The following Fire Codes are defined as follows:

The Escondido 2013 Fire Code, 2013 Rincon Fire Protection District Fire Code, and 2013 Consolidated Fire Code are more restrictive than the Cal Fire-Title 14 because of modifications that were reasonable and necessary adopted by each fire district board and the Board of Supervisors ratification of 2013 Consolidated Fire Code because of the local climatic, geological and topographical conditions within each district with San Diego County.
