On December 22, 2023 at approximately 8:59 a.m., the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received reports of a residential structure fire located at Escondido Terrace Mobile Home Park, 1380 Oak Hill Dr. #22. The first arriving units did not initially see smoke or fire in the area. Upon further investigation, the residence indicated was found to be charged with smoke and a small amount of fire coming from an electrical outlet.

Aggressive action by the firefighters located, contained, and controlled the fire activity in about 15 minutes from time of dispatch. The residence remained primarily intact but suffered smoke damage. Electrical utilities were secured to safely extinguish the fire and prevent further hazards.

In all, sixteen firefighters and one fire prevention specialist responded to the fire. SDGE was dispatched to address electrical service. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. One adult resident was displaced and one $250 “SAFER” gift card was provided on behalf of the California Fire Foundation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
