Terrace Fire

On March 22, 2024 at approximately 7:06 PM, the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received a report of a residential structure fire on Terrace View Place in Escondido. The first arriving Engine Company reported heavy fire from the rear of the residence. Further investigation revealed a well-established fire in the attic of a duplex home.

Aggressive firefighting contained the fire to the attic of one unit. However, the primary fire building sustained heavy smoke and water damage. The adjacent unit received minor smoke and water damage. Firefighters remained on scene for nearly 2 hours doing extensive salvage and overhaul.

Two adults, one child, and multiple pets were displaced due to the fire and are being assisted with lodging by the American Red Cross. The residents received a SAVE card provided by California Fire Foundation to assist with immediate needs.

22 Firefighters responded to the incident. Escondido Police Officers assisted with evacuations and traffic control. SDG&E responded to secure gas and electric services. No Firefighters or civilians were injured during the incident.
